Moving from the Democratic Republic of Congo to Turkey has been one of the most eye-opening experiences of my life. While the two countries are thousands of miles apart, they share a beautiful common trait: hospitality.

In Congo, life is vibrant, communal, and deeply connected to nature and rhythm. In Turkey, especially in Ankara, I found a different kind of energy—a mix of deep history and a fast-paced modern lifestyle. The biggest difference? Definitely the food! While I miss the tropical flavors of home, I have fallen in love with Turkish breakfast and tea culture.
